About Us

An investment company committed to solving your problems

Kapatens was founded in 2018. We make all our investments through our Swedish entity – Kapatens Partners AB – and our fund structure – Kapatens I L.P. – or any of their subsidiaries. We have well-established relationships with co-investment partners in the EU and the US.

Our team is based in Stockholm and Jersey.

What we believe in

We are committed to give you access to legal finance and/or overcome a special situation and to give our investors a return on their investment.

Access-to-justice

We are a strong advocate for access-to-justice. Today, it does require considerable time, commitment and money to safeguard your right against an opposite party with financial resources. This is something that large companies, authorities and governments take advantage of in order to escape liability. Most of our investments will create balance of power and thus level the playing field.

Being objective

Disputes and special situations often involve feelings of resentment among the parties involved. We look at each investment opportunity with a professional and analytic approach and will remain objective throughout the term of the investment. We will never fund a case without strong merits.

Being helpful and flexible

Sometimes an investment by us is not the best solution for you. If this is our conclusion after reviewing your case or special situation, we will guide you to what we think is a better alternative. We believe that being honest, flexible and helpful will benefit all parties involved in the long perspective.

Never give up on a good case

Our investors are committed in an evergreen structure. We will thus never discontinue the funding of a case just because we need to close any fund. Our investors understand that some of the cases will take time, a lot of time.
